Miesa: Bringing back the sounds of 90s R&B

So once again, I know I have let this site go for a while.  I have been writing, I’ve been so busy writing everywhere but this site. As I mentioned at the beginning of the year I am working on something that is coming very soon and so that is where most of my focus has gone. As well as me writing for a few other online sites, which has meant that I have put this blog to the back front which is so not on. I have been thinking about ways I can take this more and do with this site and that might mean that I start it from scratch with more focused and regular content. But until that happens I will keep it going because I do just enjoy writing for me.

So without further ado, I thought I would do my comeback post on an artist I have just met and semi-fallen in love with who goes by the name of Miesa.

Sofi De La Torre – Another.Not.Me.I’m Done.

Sofi De La Torre

As the time of summer is upon us there is nothing like fresh music to reflect this time of carefree days, vacationing (wherever you may be going) and just enjoying the time of not having to think about school. I personally always appreciate music that can reflect a time of my summer and so with this time I thought I would introduce you all to an artist you may not be familiar with Sofi De La Torre.

Throwback: Concert Review Jojo Live in London

On January 17th I had the pleasure of kicking off my gigs of the year with the one and only Jojo. The US pop star who was once on our radars with her early 2000’s hits ‘Leave (Get Out’ and ‘Too Little Too Late’ made her comeback last year with the release of her third studio album Mad Love thus embarking on the Mad Love Tour.

I among others gathered in the cold January night to KOKO London where she performed to a sold out crowd and might I say she did not disappoint. Having queued for roughly an hour and a bit I was lucky to get a solid view from the first level standing and so had no reasons to complain.

Scared To Be Lonely.jpg

So I know I have been gone for a minute. Things are hectic and very busy. I figured I would come back to writing here for a moment and share my #TuneoftheMoment.

Scared To Be Lonely by Martin Garrix and Dua Lipa was released earlier this year on January 27th 2017 and I must admit ever since I first heard it has been a song that is constantly on repeat whenever it plays on my iPod.

Ella Mai Ready

I know I’ve been gone for a minute. Things have been very crazy and hectic with school (the struggle) anyway I’m back from my absence with the best thing I’ve heard in a while! As some of you may have read my post that recapped my favourite albums from 2016. One of the only artists that managed to top the list twice was The DJ Mustard signee and British R&B singer Ella Mai with her EPs Time and Change both released last year. Well Ella is starting the year off right with the third and final instalment in what is her EP trilogy and her fourth EP overall. (hopefully this means that a full length album is coming! Fingers Crossed)

This is probably the first New Music Friday I’ve ever done. Probably because most of the time I listen to new music in the evenings and don’t actually get to listen to the songs until Saturday hence why my music posts fall on a Saturday. NOT TODAY THOUGH. This morning I decided to listen to a couple of songs off the bat and already I have 2 that I’m obsessed with and everybody needs to be obsessed with as well.

Coachella Lineup 2017

Considering I have never actually been to California before, few times a year do I wish I could just teleport myself to be there. Instances such as the Grammy Awards which would be the ultimate award show to go, The Oscars cause who wouldn’t want to go the oscars. Granted my time will come and one day I will be at both these awards shows.

Another of those instances is when April arrives and the Coachella Music and Arts Festival graces its presence among the people of the Coachella Desert. Year after year do I see pictures that make me wish I was a hippy/bohemian/flower crown wearing person going with the flow and attending what seems like the ultimate music festival.
